Burning desire to succeed, passion to fuel your needs.
Heya beautiful people out there,
Its 3.21am now and yes I am crazy as always. Working hard around the clock but I thought I would write another tasty article for you, since I have been requested many times for the next one. It seems that my last article “Are you a masterchef of success? Learning to cook will take you there!” was a massive hit and probably made alot of you hungry!!!
I would really love to thank my good friend Jui (Somporn) and his co-host DJ KK for last Friday as they were kind enough to discuss my latest article on their radio station that they do volunteering for, 4 hours every Friday in Thailand. I’m really grateful and appreciative to the two of you and the radio station for helping to share my wonderful message around Thailand and around the world for international listeners. I must say that you two really are a lovely bunch and have amazingly fun radio personalities.
For those of you who are wanting to listen in you can check it out here:
http://www.lannaradioparty.com
To listen to the radio station you can go here and open the .pls file to load your media player. They also take live requests for songs!
My next article will actually be an article to promote DJ K-K and her music (She’s also a singer, DJ and Model, how talented!!!) as a thank you for the wonderful live broadcast about my last article.
Her myspace page is here for those who would like to support her in her singing career.
So whats been new with me? Well I’m heading off to South America in less than 2 weeks. Its really been a great dream of mine to go to such a beautiful country, especially since I love the Latin culture and it was the original reason I took up Spanish, because I love the music, the language, the culture and the food. I love that people in the Latin are culture are so passionate with everything they do, its really amazing and I would love to get a 1-1 personal experience of that. I remember when I went to Japan in 2007 and I was so impressed by how focused and discipline and happy everyone was over there. Holidays are an amazing experience, and its really great to visit countries that really excel in many different habits of successful people. So that’s what my article will be about today, passion, fire, and burning desire. Hot like Caliente!!!
Before I go on any further I’m going to sign off here, as sleep is calling me but I will be back…
So anyways I’m back, its 12.15am and WOW. Things are going great. I’ve done about 30 pages of my ebook, and hoping to have it finished by this Sunday. I’ll of course have to get it proof read and everything. I’ve had a very good friend of mine design the E-cover for me (remember to leverage everything and look for specialists) and I think he’s done a really great job and really captured what my ebook will be about.
His name is Bernie Wiemers and his Ecover website design is here are Topecovers
I’ve accomplished so much in the last 3 months, and am finally fulfilling my dreams of going to South America and really having a genuine opportunity to help others be inspired, motivated and feel successful through my article writing. Thank you all again so much, especially with being patient with my replies and my next article.
I’m hoping to get many sales on this upcoming ebook, it’ll really demonstrate that anything is possible when you have the drive, especially since this is my first ebook. I really encourage you all to follow your dreams, chase your passions and listen to your heart.
So lets get onto my article!!! Burning desire to succeed, passion to fuel your needs.
(I just realized this is going to be a long one!!!)
1. Procrastination is like ignoring a burning fire.
———————————————————————————————————–
Ok, heheh I want you ALL to put your hands up heheh. I know I’m a big procrastinator and I’m sure we’ve all done it once in our lifetime =D. Procrastination is not all that bad sometimes, but it always needs to be kept in check. Sometimes it will actually help you avoid costly mistakes, because it actually gives you a split second to think about things and what you’re doing and not to always rush into every new idea and opportunity. This is especially true if you have my type of personality where I’m always go go go. However… it needs to be monitored and not forgotten. Procrastination is like a fire burning closer towards your house in the outback.
What do I mean? Well think about it this way. Imagine you’re in a house and you see in the far far distance smoke and fire, but its really far away. Say maybe 20km’s away. You’re think “so what” its so far away, its not going to reach me at all. This is like procrastination, it always initially seems like its not that much of a big deal… its not… unless you ignore its happening. Ever notice how 1-2 days of procrastination is not that bad, especially if its doing a chore such as cleaning your room or keeping a close look at your outgoing bills. But then suddenly once day you realise your house is on fire!!! Your room is suddenly a garbage dump and your bills are out of control and you’re feeling frustrated and stressed. Yes I would be too if my house was burning.
So whats the trick? Well keep a monitor, don’t feel guilty if you procrastinate a day or two, just make sure that you MAKE UP for it the next day and use it to feel even more driven in life, condition your mind to work harder, smarter and more passionately every time you put things off, so that you will be creating a habit of success for yourself.
We are after all human and we can’t be always burning every single day, because we all go through our down days every now and again. The key is to make it a goal of being happy every day, and making sure you don’t become a year long procrastinator. You don’t want to wait till your 80 years old and realise you’ve done nothing with your life and have all but regrets and faded dreams. I know this is a shock for some of you, but if you’ve been making procrastination a habit and pretending you don’t do it, well your house is eventually going to catch on fire. So lets wake up, look at our current situation, do we need to move house or do some back burning to make sure this little fire doesn’t consume us.
———————————————————————————————————–
2. How do you maintain a flame and keep it alive? You make sure you constantly add fuel to it.
———————————————————————————————————–
Before you learn how to keep a flame alive, you must have one to start with. All dreams begin with an idea, and an idea is like the spark that lit the flame. Start thinking about your dreams and goals, create that spark and attraction of all things great into your life. So now you have your spark lit, your fire is going. How do you maintain this flame? Well think about a real fire. How do you keep it alive? Well you have to constantly add fuel of some type to it, whether it be paper, wood, petrol. Remember though, that what you add to a fire will determine what type of results or fire you will get!
Everyone has passion, enthusiasm and motivation when they start something new, begin a goal or discover a dream. But rarely does anyone grow it, or keep it alive for long. Achieving everything you want in your life is like a fire. You have to make sure that you take daily steps to achieving it (much like adding fuel to a fire). Guess what happens when you stop taking steps for too long one day? Your flame disappears and you have to start all over again!!! So this leads back to our procrastination monster. Ignore the fire (procrastination) and it will be on your heels, don’t feed it enough (too much procrastination) and it (your dreams) will die off. Notice how these two amazingly different concepts relate to the same thing. Life is sometimes a paradox, we just have to go with it.
———————————————————————————————————–
3. Lets pick a fuel, remember this is like a cake, the ingredients you put in will give you different results.
———————————————————————————————————–
When starting off with something momentous theres so much to consider. You want to pick the type of fuel you want to add to your fire (passion and momentum). You see if you add the wrong types of fuel, say newspaper, dry grass or petrol, your fire is going to be dangerous out of control. It will be out of control and going in different directions and burning everyone around it, what a disaster! Have you ever felt like this before? I know I have in the past. It happens even to the best of us.
So with your fire, you want to add steady fuel to it. Say wooden logs, or coal. When you start achieving your dreams, you want the building blocks to making it happen right? This is like creating a steady fire. You want to add slow burning fuel, but fuel that seems to last forever and ever and seems to grow the fire bigger and bigger but in controlled state.
Also remember that if you add too many logs too fast, your fire will go KAPUT! It’ll be extinguished. So this relates to focus. Trying too many different things at one time, even if its great ideas and massive action (wooden logs and coals) you will BURN out or feel that your dream is too BIG to achieve, (much like trying to start out a small spark and having wooden logs dumped on top of you!). So start small, have a vision, build your dreams, from smaller goals, and create momentum like and endless slow burning fire that constantly grows bigger and bigger like a bonfire instead of a firestorm.
———————————————————————————————————–
4. Avoid adding fuel and fire to your ego
———————————————————————————————————–
Wow I’ve been guilty of this in the past, and BOY OH BOY its sure got me into alot of mess. I really have to thank my mentor Roy McDonald at OneLife for telling me a long time ago to drop my ego. Actually I never really understood at the time, but I sure understand it now. I remember last time I want to achieve so much and feel so successful and was trying to do it in as short as time as possible to prove myself to the world. Guess what! EGO! You got it. So because of this I would always make costly mistakes, would never really think things through and I would just take lots of big risks. Ego can really get you in trouble, make sure to keep it in check and that you don’t keep adding fuel and fire on to it, because it will burn you and people around you.
Why was this so dangerous? Because I stopped smelling the flowers. My ego stopped me from enjoying life and the present moment and really being and feeling happy, I would always tell myself, I’ll be happy when I get this and when I get that. I learnt from Eckard Tolle in his book “The Power of Now”, ego can only exist in the past or the future. We all cling onto our victorious pasts and live off these stories. Its great to be proud of your past achievements but don’t let that stop you enjoying the moment and creating more present achievements and future achievements. Also don’t get so hung up on future achievements that you stop enjoying the present. Its all about the journey and it really did take me so long to finally get it. So I encourage you all to keep enjoying every day, be proud of your past achievements but have a future vision and work hard and enjoy your present moments.

5. Passion is like exciting like watching a candle flame burn.
———————————————————————————————————–
Really to have passion in your life, you must have some type of burning desire to achieve or do something grand. Yes that word probably does get used alot but its OK, if you understand what it is and don’t lose the meaning of it. Passion is like fire. When you feel excited about something, you literally feel that there is a burning fire or energy in you that you want to let out. And others will see this in your. They will see your spark. Just make sure you hang around the right people that will not douse your flames. Did you ever notice that no two candles burn the exact same way. Even though the candles may be exact copies of each other, they will never have the same pattern of flame activity. So always try to model other successful and happy people but just remember you have your own unique flame, you can never model someone exactly because you have your own personality, passion and values. So don’t be upset if you can’t model someone exactly because you can’t. Replicate their success, have a flame as bright as theirs but don’t be upset it if looks slightly different, it still gives off the same energy and light. They are both equally attractive.
———————————————————————————————————–
6. Gratitude is like a warm fireplace.
———————————————————————————————————–
I know I say this in every article but have gratitude for everything great in your life up until this point. Appreciate everything you have and give others back the gratitude you receive. This is really the secret to happiness, being in the present moment, and having gratitude for everyone else and you especially. I know that when I dropped my ego and started being grateful for all the things in my life, my mind just changed. I felt happier, lighter and more and more great things started coming into my life. I know you think it might not be that simple but it really is. You only have to practise it.
———————————————————————————————————–
7. Birds of a feather are like two flames that grow old together.
———————————————————————————————————–
Ok hahah, I sorta just made that up but it sounded cool. Actually this idiom is from the proverb “Birds of a feather flock together.” It essentially means that like minded people will be attracted to each other and gather together. So if you see a single feather, and they’re from the same species of bird, then its most likely be together.
This is really important. Have you ever noticed that when you put two candle flames right next two each other, not touching but quite close. It always appears that they are trying to combine together. Its almost like magnetic attraction. This is what you will find as you start becoming happy and feeling successful you will attract other like minded people. So what happens when you put them together? Well they become a even greater flame, with less effort. They are both still using the same fuel sources, but WOW they sure are burning so much brighter. So this goes back to the addage that 1 + 1 = 3. Two people who get together that are of similar positive minds, they will ultimately achieve more together.
So make sure to pass on all the warmth you generate to others. Even if someone is cold like ice, sometimes if you burn brightly enough they will eventually warm up and inspire others to do the same.
———————————————————————————————————–
So with that I will leave you with one of my latest quotes:
“Fire is a funny thing, it can give you energy in two ways. You must learn though, to use it to ignite you passion instead of your ego. One will warm your heart and the other will set off your head.” – Kase Cheah
Please stay tuned for updates on my upcoming ebook, I hope to release it before I head off to South America. I do hope that for those of you who decide purchase it, you will find it extremely powerful and life changing.
Well back to my ebook, take care of yourselves, and be inspired.
